During the eighties, many of the televised German finals were preceded by semi-finals broadcast on the radio. Most, if not all, of these are available as radio rips. The aim of this project is to surface all the vinyl versions, including any remixes, other language versions and instrumentals.

So, if you are in Germany, or you have a good collection of 80s German eurovision music, why not check out your vinyl collection or visit those upcoming summer record fairs to see if we can get our hands on those tough to get items, including pictures of the record covers?

Additionally, was there also a semi-final in 1980? I have a song which claims to be a semi-finalist that year but I see no record of an earlier selection process. The song is "Traumexpress" performed by Marianne Rosenberg. Is this mis-information?
